This series of drawings depicts plants that have historically grown on or may still grow on Grassy Mountain in what is now known as the Crowsnest Pass, Alberta. The site of the proposed Grassy Mountain Coal Project. The drawings were created using milk on paper. Initially invisible, the heat from a candle or rubbing charcoal on the drawings reveals the image of each plant.
While the Grassy Mountain Coal project was denied, coal exploration, infrastructure development as well as past strip mining on Grassy Mountain has endangered and destroyed habitat, wildlife, waterways, soil, trees, and plants.
