Andrea Carvalho is an artist and cultural worker. Her sculpture, drawing and performance practice negotiates ideas of space, the body and the built environment. For Art S.E.A.L.S., Carvalho will be creating “architectural additions” in the Windsor Public Library. These large, whimsical, cardboard sculptures and the performative nature of their construction, draw our attention to the structures we inhabit, enhancing them or alternately rendering them useless, while making us aware of the possibilities for intervention or subversion in our daily lives.
