In the current economy freelance work is a precarious endeavour, however, it can also allow artists time to devote energy to their artistic practices. Over the past three years, Pelkey has taken a number of freelance jobs from technical writing to university teaching. For Art S.E.A.L.S., Pelkey placed an advertisement for one hour of free labour.
