Elder Theresa Sims kicks off the event with song and prayer acknowledging the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, which includes the Ojibwa, the Odawa, and the Potawatomie, on which the 3-day event took place. She also presented a talk on Indigenous knowledge related to seed preservation and storage.
