Detroit Windsor Journal Project
October 2, 2006
A collaborative project by Alana Bartol and Ben Good
200+ journal entries from people of all ages in Detroit, MI and Windsor, ON
Drawing on the thoughts and daily experiences of people in both cities, the Detroit Windsor Journal Project is intended to provide a glimpse into people’s lives, while illuminating the cultural differences that shape and define the communities on both sides of the border. While discussions and debates continue over Detroit’s revival, people continue to live, work, and study in the city.
A call was sent out to community members to keep a personal journal for the day of Monday, October 2nd 2006. No restrictions were placed on the length or content of the journals. Participants were asked to record and reflect on their daily routines, experiences and interactions with others.
