Lip Print Labour > Work Week (19, 999 kisses)

Performance/installation, 2007

In Work Week, a 5 channel video displays surveillance of a woman working at a desk in what is assumed to be an office environment. She repeatedly applies red lipstick, kissing page after page of white 8.5 in x 11 in paper, filling thousands of pages with red lipstick. A woman sits in the corner of an empty room, continuously shredding each page of 'lip prints'. The pile of shredded paper grows larger in the centre of the room referencing the seemingly endless cycles of bureaucracy in administrative labour.
